9.OO Departure from Milano towards Bergamo, accommodation in a hotel situated in a historic building in the heart of the Città Alta. 10.30 A tour guided by one of our guides to one of Italy’s most important art galleries . 13.00 Visit to Palazzo Agliardi, one of the most beautiful stately homes of Bergamo. You will be received by the hosts who will tour you through their house and will offer you a typical sitting lunch and local wines to be tasted under the ceiling frescos of their home. Coffee will be served in the hanging garden. 15.30 Visit to the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, the Cappella Colleoni and Piazza Vecchia ( Basilic, Chapel and old square) in the Città Alta.
17.00 Conference held in the seat of the Fondazione Bartolomeo Colleoni opened exclusively for you. The speaker will be a member of the Foundation skilled in the life of a Commander. 18.00 Visit to Palazzo Terzi, a 18th century private stately home. You will be toured by the hosts who will show you the frescos and furnishings that help create the magic of this place. You will sip tea by candlelight which will recreate the fascinating atmosphere of the past times. 19.00 Back to the hotel for a short rest. 20.00 Dinner
in a private stately home which is the best sample of baroque in
Bergamo. You will walk in the vast terraced garden viewing the Città Alta
where you will be offered a cocktail. The hosts will offer you a banquet

9.30 Departure for Franciacorta (a very well known region for its wines between Bergamo and the Lake of Garda). 10.30 Visit to the atelier of an artist who will explain you his art and the ancient techniques he uses for his masterpieces. 11.30 You will be received by the owners of one of the most fascinating private castles of Lombardy. You will be offered an appetiser in the armour room where you will be surrounded by wonderful collections of arms and pictures. 13.00 An elegant sitting lunch in the Brescia style in the beautiful rooms of one of the best 17th century villas of this region. The hosts will receive and guide you through their home. 15.30 Visit to a historical cellar where you will taste their wines. The owners will explain you the wine-making, the growing of the vineyards, the problems of bottling and the secret of their success. 18.00 Return to Milano. |
